Homer Rissman* is the architect responsible for designing Las Vegas’ very first high-rise condominium, Regency Towers. Over his 50+ year career as an architect, Rissman used design to help shape the Las Vegas skyline in iconic buildings such as Circus Circus, a riverboat shaped Holiday Casino, Sands Expo Center, and parts of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
However, it took two local real estate moguls, Irwin Molasky* and Mervyn Adelson, along with a notorious mob boss, Moe Dalitz*, to develop Regency Towers into the luxurious and innovative residential address that continues to define Las Vegas even today. Their vision was to build a thriving, resilient, and prosperous community so they assumed a principal role in developing most of the surrounding properties around RT including the Las Vegas Country Club, UNLV, Sunrise Hospital, Boulevard Mall, and the Las Vegas Convention Center.
These men had an affinity for luxury and glamour. Over the years, a few people you might have seen lounging poolside or roaming around the hallways of RT included national and international celebrities such as Debbie Reynolds*, Joan Rivers, Barbara Walters, George Carlin*, Frank Sinatra, Suzanne Somers, Rodney Dangerfield*, Wayne Newton, Buddy Hackett, and Harry Reid.
Today, the residents and Board of Directors are immensely proud of RT’s tradition and history. And they continue to expand upon RT’s celebrated status as Las Vegas’ premier residential address by offering amenities that our founders could only dream about. Present RT renovation plans include installing state-of-the-art telecom services, three high speed elevators and sustainable contemporary desert landscaping.
Regency Towers, poised to uphold its prominent role in defining the future of sophisticated high-rise community living in Las Vegas.
